Hi!  My name is Diana and I am a member of Curves.  I am 44 years old and have been happily married for 27 years.  I have two grown sons and 5 grandchildren.  I work part time at Norton City Schools and also I am a Pastor's Wife.

All my life I have struggled with my weight.  I tried all the fad diets and even went to a diet doctor and used Meridia and Xenical to lose weight.  I lost the weight but ended up getting sick, very sick, and then the weight came back on not long after that.  

I saw that a franchise of Curves came into Barberton, but at the time I was working 2nd shift and thought there was no way they could help me.  Boy was I wrong.  I always liked exercising but with my old job sometimes it was too difficult.  The day I came in to check it out and watched everyone working out I thought to myself I could do this.  It actually looked fun and everyone was so easy and friendly to talk to.

So here I am 51 pounds lighter and 53 inches smaller. There was no way I could have done this anywhere else.  I believe in this program.  Soon after I joined I started the weight loss class, and it was well worth it.  I learned how to eat all over again and change my whole life style with this program.  I have more energy than I know what to do with.  I am taking on new challenges and wanting to do things that I thought I would never be able to do again or try.

I've been married for 33 years and we have two sons - 21 and 25.  I joined the Fairlawn Curves the first day it opened up in 2003.  I was preparing to get in shape for a wedding which was one year away.  I was wearing a size 18 at the time.  I was able to lose 40 pounds and fit into a size 12 for the wedding.

Two of my sisters also joined Curves at different locations in preparation for this wedding.  They also were able to achieve their goals, as well as maintain them.

I've had approximately eight other family members join Curves throughout the US.  They all love it, and continue to benefit from this type of workout.

My weight has been a problem since being a teenager. And like many people I have yo-yoed with weight over my lifetime. But in 2003, I had reached an all-time high.  I had NOT been exercising regularly for 2-3 years, and my eating habits were terrible, to say the least.  I had used the excuse of "not enough time". The real wake-up call came in January of 2004.  At that time my triglycerides had skyrocketed to nearly 600.  The doctor added another statin drug and advised me to cut carbs.  After that visit, I went home and looked in the mirror.  I decided I could either continue on a collision course towards diabetes, heart disease, and joint problems, or I could live a longer and healthier life by changing what I was doing.  Is a cookie more important than seeing my granddaughter graduate from high school?  Was food worth the devastation diabetes had caused my mother?  I decided it was not.

Curves has been a perfect workout for me.  I saw the commericials on TV and also heard about some others who were members.  The 30 minute workout was (is) perfect....because who doesn't have 30 minutes three times a week?  I liked the strength training part of the circuit because so much is written about the importance of this for women, especially post menopausal women.  The staff has always been friendly and helpful, and the friends I have made make the workout 30 minutes of fun.  And I often see old friends too.  The combination of Curves and a low carb diet has helped me lose 30 pounds and 30 inches.  I still have about ten pounds to go and want to keep it off forever.  I intend to continue with Curves as long as I am walking around, taking in air!

I read an article once about why people overeat and I was all ten of the reasons, plus more!  Now, I'm feeling much better about myself.  My top weight loss was 47 lbs.  I'm thankful to Curves for providing a welcoming and encouraging place to get into shape.  Curves has helped me with strength, flexibility, balance and endurance.  I don't get out of breath climbing stairs now!  Working out has also helped a lot in managing my struggle with depression.  I did not need to use my special light last winter for treating SADD.  When co-workers and family rave and ask me how I did it, the simple answer is -- "Diet and CURVES!!

My name is Trisha and I live in Copley, where I am married and have two children who are 17 and 15.  I've been working out at Curves for almost one year now.  I have always been a yoyo dieter and exerciser since the age of 21, and my confidence level was a zero!

I have to say, Curves has changed my life in a lot of ways.  The staff is fabulous and very supportive and the members are all wonderful.  It just amazes me how you can work out for half an hour (not even realizing how fast a half an hour goes) for three days a week and the inches will fall off.

I could have joined a gym or fitness center, but I am very grateful I came across Curves!  My life will never be the same.  I have so much more energy and have lost over 19 inches and 20 some pounds and I've gained a lot of wonderful friends.

This is the absolute best way to keep fit, and the Curves Challenge Diet is worth a try.  I lost 11 pounds on my first 6-Week Challenge and have maintained.

Thank you everyone for being here to help me along and listening when I need a shoulder to lean on.  My confidence level isn't zero anymore thanks to Curves.  I've made a commitment and I'm sticking to it!
